Illinois Region President for Deaconess Illinois to Speak at McKendree University Oct. 3

Lebanon, IL (09/23/2024) — William Davis '08, the Illinois Region President for Deaconess Illinois, will be coming to McKendree University's Hettenhausen Center for the Arts to speak on Thursday, October 3 at 7 p.m. Davis is speaking as part of the university's annual Wayne E. Lanter Lecture Series, which invites influential business leaders and entrepreneurs to share their insight and strategies for success. He will be visiting the university during the day, holding thoughtful discussions and answering questions from McKendree students.

Admission to the evening event is free and open to both students and the general public. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the event. There will also be a Business over Breakfast event at the Hett lobby that morning at 8:30 a.m. All are invited to attend, network, enjoy coffee and donuts, and speak with Davis during this event.

Attendees can expect an invigorating hour-long discussion at the evening event with Davis, who not only serves as the Illinois Region President for Deaconess Illinois, but also serves as Chief Administrative Officer at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill., with more than 15 years executive leadership experience in southern Illinois.

As president, Davis oversees operations in the Illinois market and organizational planning for several Illinois facilities. He has been nationally recognized as a "Rural Hospital CEO to Know" and "Black Healthcare Leader to Know" by the prestigious Becker's Hospital Review three years in a row.

His calm demeanor, thoughtfulness toward team members and the ability to see the results of actions taken from a patient's perspective have made Davis stand out as a leader. In 2021, the Southern Illinois Business Journal named him among its annual list of "20 Under 40 Leaders" for making a difference as a young leader in the region while serving as associate CEO of Heartland Regional Medical Center.

Additionally, Davis is known for giving back to the region through civic organizations serving on a number of boards including as president of Marion Kiwanis Club. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from McKendree University and his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill.
