McKendree University Student Nichole Meyer Wins at PBL State Conference

2013 Apr 11

Nichole Meyer, a McKendree University junior from Carlyle, was successful at the Illinois Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) State Leadership Conference, held April 5 and 6 in Effingham. The McKendree chapter won several first place awards, competing against four-year and two-year institutions from throughout the state.

Meyer took a first place award for Management Concept.

"Our PBL members are tremendous ambassadors for McKendree," said Dr. Rick Bonsall, assistant professor of marketing and chapter adviser.

In addition, McKendree University's PBL chapter won first place for its March of Dimes fundraiser, which raised $500, and third place for local chapter membership.

The Phi Beta Lambda organization supports and encourages student activities and success at local, state and national levels to prepare them for careers after college and to help them distinguish themselves.

Founded in 1828, McKendree University ranks among the top quarter of regional universities nationwide in U.S. News and World Report's "Best Colleges" for 2013. McKendree offers 50 undergraduate academic majors and graduate programs in education, professional counseling, business administration and nursing. www.mckendree.edu
