Maximilian Aviles Wins Technos International Prize at McKendree University

Maximilian Aviles, a 2017 McKendree University graduate, received the 2017 Technos International Prize at the April 27 Honors Convocation during the annual Academic Excellence Celebration at the Lebanon, Ill., campus. Sponsored by the Tanaka Ikueikai Educational Trust to foster multi-cultural awareness, the Technos Prize is given to a graduating senior chosen by the faculty for outstanding academic achievement and a commitment to international understanding.

Maximilian, an international relations and Spanish double major, is a member of the honors program. He maintained an excellent grade point average throughout his college career, earning membership in four academic honor societies. He participated in the Model U.N. program and twice in a service-learning trip to Jamaica. He is one of 20 students in the U.S. to receive the prestigious Pickering Foreign Service Fellowship, which will provide funding for graduate school and prepare him for a career with the U.S. Department of State.
