Mary McKee Inducted into Phi Kappa Phi at McKendree University

2013 Apr 22

Mary McKee, a resident of Chrisman and a junior athletic training major at McKendree University, was recently inducted into the Chapter 292 of Phi Kappa Phi national honor society.

McKee was inducted during the chapter's tenth initiation ceremony held on April 19 at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts on campus. The event was held on Honors Day, which recognizes outstanding student achievement throughout the university community.

Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society. Individual membership is by invitation and requires nomination and chapter approval. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors, having at least 72 semester hours, are eligible.

McKendree University ranks among the top quarter of regional universities nationwide in the 2013 U.S. News and World Report's "Best Colleges" report. Founded in 1828, the historic Lebanon, Ill., campus is 25 miles from downtown St. Louis. www.mckendree.edu
