Julia Surdyke Participates in "Blithe Spirit" at McKendree University

2014 Mar 25

Julia Surdyke is part of the McKendree University Theater Department's spring production of "Blithe Spirit," a supernatural comedy. The play by Noel Coward tells the story of Charles Condomine, a bright and articulate novelist who finds himself in an awkward predicament after conducting a seance with his wife Ruth, another couple, and the eccentric medium Madame Arcati. Through the seance, Charles becomes reunited with the ghost of his first wife, Elvira, who will do anything necessary to destroy his current marriage. Julia is the stage manager.

See "Blithe Spirit" at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on March 27-29, and at 2:30 p.m. on March 30. General admission seating is free. "The Hett" is Southern Illinois's premier performing arts center, providing McKendree's theater and music students a state-of-the-art venue in which to showcase their talents. www.theHett.com.
