Christin Austin is an Admission Tele-Counselor at McKendree University

2012 Dec 17

Christin Austin, a McKendree University first-year from Wayne City, Ill., recently celebrated a successful semester as one of the university's admission "tele-counselors."

Tele-counselors are student ambassadors who phone prospective students to encourage them to apply to McKendree, visit the campus, and confirm their attendance at large events. In their first semester, they made 1,912 total call attempts and spoke to 622 prospective students or parents. Their work generated 117 new student applications, 41 of which have been admitted.

McKendree University ranks among the top quarter of regional universities nationwide in the 2013 U.S. News and World Report's "Best Colleges" report. Founded in 1828, the historic Lebanon, Ill., campus is 25 miles from downtown St. Louis. For more information, visit www.mckendree.edu.
