Ashley Boyles to Lead Summer Math and Science Program

Ashley Boyles, a McKendree University teacher candidate from O'Fallon, has completed training in preparation to lead a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) sports camp at Belle Valley School in Belleville, Ill., the week of July 29. The program, a collaboration between the university and the Illinois Math and Science Academy, involves 48 rising seventh and eighth graders learning and experimenting with the physics of sports. Boyles participated in weeks of online training in inquiry methods of teaching math and science before convening this week to complete preparation for the five-day camp.
