Ariel Collins is on McKendree University Homecoming Court

Ariel Collins, a McKendree University senior sociology-social work major from East St. Louis, is a candidate for 2013 Homecoming Queen. She is a member of the Pi Gamma Mu and Lambda Pi Eta honor societies for social sciences and speech communication; and the Residence Life, Spectrum Alliance and ALPHA organizations on campus. She has also volunteered at the Unity Hospice and the Pentecostal Power Church.

Candidates are determined by their application and an interview with a panel of judges. Interviews are scored on the candidates' ability to exemplify the qualities of leadership, spirit, integrity and achievement through their involvement at McKendree University. Selection is determined by the candidate's initial application, interview scores and student voting results.

The king and queen will be crowned at the Headphone Disco dance party on Friday, Oct. 4, and the entire court will be introduced at the homecoming parade and football game on Saturday, Oct., 5.
