Ariel Collins is 2014 MLK Humanitarian Award Winner

Ariel Collins, a senior sociology-social work major, is a 2014 McKendree University Humanitarian Award winner. The award was presented on Jan. 23 during an annual chapel service to celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Recipients are those who demonstrate increased understanding and tolerance, embrace humanitarian principles and ideals, and lead or participate in community service programs that reflect these ideals.

Ariel, who has been a resident assistant, homecoming court candidate and honor society chair, was recognized for her work with many behind the scenes, and for demonstrating enthusiasm, concern, willingness to assist, and fair treatment of others.
